Glenelg Jetty

Glenelg Jetty has been the icon of Holdfast Bay since the first structure opened in 1859, stretching 381 metres out into the gulf with a wooden lighthouse, aquarium and pavilion added over the decades. A cyclone destroyed much of the original jetty in 1948, and the current 215-metre jetty was rebuilt in its place in 1969, remaining Glenelg's most photographed landmark ever since.
