Glenelg Tram

The Glenelg tram is Adelaide's only remaining tram line, running since 1873 and originally converted from a steam railway to electric operation in 1929. It survived as the sole line when the rest of Adelaide's tram network was dismantled by 1960, connecting the CBD directly to the beach at Moseley Square over a journey of around 30 minutes. Recently upgraded track between August 2025 and January 2026 means the ride today is smoother and quieter than ever.
